The course content will deepen and expand the health care professional’s knowledge of health care planning and the Massachusetts laws and regulations that pertain to the decision-making authority of competent adults, Health Care Agents, Guardians and caregivers. The course will enhance their skills to actively engage adults and families in planning discussions to better understand their values, beliefs, worries and fears about planning and getting the right care at the right time.

The proven program easily incorporates into the daily workload and offers tools and discussion guides they can use in a timely manner with adults and families, no matter what age or phase of health. The course is successfully being used across many disciplines: in private practice, case management in large health care settings, geriatric care managers or life advocates; in all senior residences, skilled nursing facilities, behavioral health settings, and in hospice care.
