Battlemind Plus: Transitioning from Combat to Home

FreeCourse Description
BattleMind Plus describes the impact of the deployment cycle on service members, the changes caused by military training and immersion in a combat setting, and the cultural challenges in the transition home.
Course Objectives
- Describe the “military mindset” shaped by military training and culture.
- Use empathy for service members’ personal experiences of deployment
- Discuss the moods, behaviors, and actions of services members transitioning from “soldier to civilian.”
Speakers
Rev. Dr. Beverly Prestwood-Taylor
Dr. Prestwood-Taylor has worked with veterans and military families for over 14 years, particularly in resilience building and moral injury.
Kevin Lambert
Kevin has worked in the Human Services field for 15 years. He has provided direct services, program development, program management, and numerous trainings on the topics of the transition of military veterans to civilian life, suicide prevention, moral injury, and peer support.
