Expand your Interpreter Knowledge   –   Certification Prep-Course

As a Berkshire AHEC Medical Interpreter Training Alumni, you are cordially invited to expand your interpreting knowledge for your National Certification

Course overview: 

This 15-Hour workshop will provide detail explanation on how to prepare for the national certification.  The components of the training include comprehensive information on the code of ethics, standard of practice, CLAS Standards, the roles, and responsibilities of the interpreter, HIPPA, and Medical Terminology.  Be able to understand the various illnesses, as well as symptoms characteristic of each body system, understand the terms from English to target language and have the ability to define each term.  These are vital to the preparation for the NBCMI & CCHI National Certification written exams.  A test of your knowledge assessment will be provided at the beginning of the session and a final assessment will be provided to familiarize the student with the format of the written certification exam.

Date:  Tuesdays and Thursdays – April 11, 2023, through April 27, 2023

Certificate & Completion Requirements:  Participants are expected to sign-in and out, attend the entire program, and complete an evaluation.  Participants are expected to log in, attend the entire program, and complete/submit an evaluation. Upon completion and receipt of the evaluation, certificates will be mailed within two weeks after the program to the address provided upon registration. Participants will not receive a certificate of completion until full course payment has been received.

Refunds:  Berkshire AHEC does not provide tuition refunds once participant has access to electronic course materials.  If an individual requests a refund after electronic course materials have been distributed; due to illness, a partial refund may be made of any amount paid to-date above the non-refundable assessment fee and tuition deposit.
