Obtaining Social Security Disability Income (SSDI): An Overview for Health Care Professionals

Target Audience: This workshop is designed for health and human service professionals of all levels working with their clients to assist them in navigating the SSDI application and appeals process.

Michelle Richard, M. Ed, CRC, CEAS
Michelle Richard has more than 15 years of public and private sector experience in mental health, vocation rehabilitation, case management, and community reintegration. Ms. Richard joined UMASS Medical school’s Disability Evaluation Services, in 2004, as a disability reviewer. For the past nine years, Ms. Richard has managed a team of disability reviewers, as well as being the lead manager for Disability Transition Strategies (DTS), a service delivery unit, within DES. DTS provides vocational rehabilitation, vocational placement, labor market services, ergonomic evaluations and SSDI application and appeals services.
